Great Desert
The Great Desert is a massive chunk of land that is designed to be both hostile and inhospitable to those who know not its secrets. Created by the god Akhat, as one of the major continents of the world. Most of the Desert is exactly that: desert. Blasted sands on the surface, hiding even more dangers. Running throughout the area as well are various sized cliffs and patches of rocks, ranging from gravel to boulders. There are a few small areas where rather than sand, it is dry, red dirt. Lacking in the nutrients that typical agriculture depends on, it is home to the same sort of plants as the rest of the area: small shrubs, low plants, and a few stunted trees. Life in the desert has ways of defending itself, through overt physical defenses, such as spines or hiding, to other, more subtle ways, like toxins.
The Desert is also home to the Cryslak, a creature of claws, spines, and teeth, that lives through desert smarts, and being one of the fiercest and toughest things in the Desert. Another of the highly notable creatures of the wastes is the Jagter. Jagter are fierce pack animals and hunters. While an individual Jagter is not nearly as tough or dangerous many things of the waste, they are uncannily intelligent, and they are never alone.
Within the desert are three groups of peoples. Two are human: the Mteule and the Vendigroth; and then there is the the Asherati. The Mteule were almost certainly the first people to settle the Desert after it was created, estimated arriving at -2,-1.
